Was totally dying today (I registered this morning! yay classes for another quarter!) and staggered home from the anime showing early with intents to play a little Katamari, work on Nano, and stagger to bed ... and then housemate pointed out I had mail and OMG DOUJ CAME TODAY.

... I can see what you meant by soul-crushing angst and yet something close to a happy ending. (I can also see how I wrote almost the same thing as Karumadou, completely on accident.)

I'm really glad you found the copybook, too -- if I read that after I read the last volume of the actual continuous set, it really does sort of make for a happy (happier?) ending. Though the fact that they keep saying Kantarou is the person Haruka can never meet again is ...
But we never really find out what happened to him, right? Youko didn't even know his last words. D:
I will very likely do some kind of summary write-up of these at some point, because MISERY LOVES COMPANY and hell, it's not like there's much tactics stuff out there period. D:
