Forgive me, mostly because I'm not as repentant as I should be, but--
I, I'm a fan of Okane ga Nai.
Which, you know -- is probably one of THE textbook cases for the problems most people (hell, the problems I myself) have with the pure yaoi genre. You've GOT the girly-looking, constantly -weeping and delicate uke that you only know is a boy because everyone tells you he is (and because even though his speech is very polite -- which is more of a feminine trait in the language -- he uses "ore"). You've GOT the emotionally-retarded abusive seme who JUST WANTS HIS LOVE TO BE ACCEPTED, LOOK AND SEE ONLY HIM~ You've GOT the "rape = love" stereotype. You've GOT the fact that pretty much every single non-okama male in the series has the hots for the uke, and most have at some point tried to rape him, or at least kiss him, or at least LOOM over his delicate little fragile flower self with their big manly (triangular, damnit) shoulders. You've even got the "good and noble poor uke is forced into prostitution because of money" though there's that tacked on "BUT DON'T WORRY! he's only doing it with his TROO LURVE" that's just. Sort of ...
I know this! I know this, and it's really sort of ... as a fangirl with a brain, as a fangirl who doesn't like typical yaoi stereotypes, I should by all rights dislike it.
But.
Uh.

SO I DOWNLOADED THE FIRST EPISODE OF THE OAV LAST NIGHT AND WAS, IN FACT, HIGHLY ENTERTAINED.
I even downloaded scans of the manga to read and did that.
I, uh. ... may try and dig up my copies of the dramas, because the only real explanation I have is that it was the first set of BL dramas I ever heard, and sort of changed my view on Ishida Akira forever more.
Then I'm going to eat one of the pastry desserts I bought and pretend I'm working really hard on the fifty gajillion writing projects I have due within the next two months, and instead work on, like, the Shounen Onmyouji/tactics crossover (going 5000000x easier now that I figured out the appropriate timeframes!), or ... you know, the fic where Jack Sparrow realizes that for all intents and purposes, he's sort of the mummy to Barbossa's daddy for Jack-the-monkey.
Seriously, people. The Barbossa + Jack fic. I don't care if it's pairing or not, WHERE IS IT. T__________________T
