I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL POST SOMETHING OF ACTUAL CONTENT TONIGHT. IF IT KILLS ME, I WILL. >E
I feel like I totally missed out on being a fangirl geek!
See, I went to a Jonathan Coulton concert last night with
nightsinger, her boyfriend,
rivendellrose, and
zinjadu. The opening band was a duo of guys, "Paul and Storm," who were a lot of fun (I mean, any band that sings about how they're the opening band, they'll be off the stage in half an hour and stupid headline act, they'll drink his beer while he's performing) and sounded vaguely familiar. I liked them enough to buy the CDs they had for sale, and in the course of listening, found out that they were apparently part of the acapella group DaVinci's Notebook.
... I'm a huge fan of DaVinci's Notebook. D:
Will probably rip a few sample songs for sharing later (I feel like people should hear 'Randy Newman's "Theme from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King."' It's something that should be shared!)
Though maybe it's a good thing they didn't mention it, or else I suspect I would've been too shy to actually talk to them as cheerfully as I did. But they signed my CDs, and Jonathan Coulton was awesome as always -- people, he's got songs that are awesome beyond "Skullcrusher Mountain" (evil mad genius scientists in loooove) and "Re: Your Brains" (corporate zombies)! You should check him out.
And now it's Monday and I'm working hard at not getting sick. :\ Hello, first official sore throat of the season, I wish you hadn't found me!
