MERRY CHRISTMAS♥♥

Now, I gotta confess something: my family is, in fact, not big on the Christmas traditions or rituals or anything like that. We barely exchange presents, we don't have a tree, and we're more likely to watch Star Wars than any sort of "normal" holiday movie. That's how it is! For me, Christmas has always been a time to kick back and be with people I love -- which is part of why the prospect of being alone this Christmas was so depressing to me. *g*

BUT, sjen invited me to stay with her family, as previously mentioned, so I ventured into the wild lands of dial-up and parents I didn't know, and all in all, it was a pretty relaxing vacation. Even if we DID stay up till something like 5:40 last night -- I sort of figure I'll use this to reset my sleep schedule, because I am feeling remarkably (for the moment) chipper and aware. Well, in that sort of quiet way where I sit there and stare at the wall for above five minutes, but I'm still thinking, which probably counts for something! I got some writing done -- mostly my next submission for imaginarybeasts, though I'm waffling on whether I want to submit this particular one or not. (The problem is that it's a short story in Catfish's Ghost Story 'verse, and I'm having a hard time deciding where the line is between what I need to tell first-time readers, and not telling too much for anyone who might be reading the novel as I post it over here. It's a tough decision!)

I also managed to finish a birthday fic and find a handful of original (GASP) short stories half-started that ... aren't as crappy as I thought they were! SCORE. I actually had some good ideas, who knew? XD Also I picked up something like twenty-one springkink prompts I was interested in; I've managed to par the list down considerably since, but ... holy crap. Twenty-one!

This is a subliminal message: people should pick up the tactics prompts. NOT ALL OF THEM ARE MINE SHOCKINGLY. But do it anyway, because talking with sjen reminds me of how much I love that series and it makes me sad that no one else seems to know it exists. :(

It snowed a little when I was over at sjen's parents' place, which of course turned to rain when I got to Seattle. On the other hand, I'm home now, in my own territory (because as nice as it is to go visiting and see people, it is equally nice to be back in your own specific space); I'm warm and I'm dry and I have three Dresden Files bookverse brother-antics fics from Yuletide to GLEE LIKE A MAD THING over. (Holy crap, if you pinch-hitters are reading my LJ: THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm really excited to read these! \o/)

And my recipient liked their fic too, thank goodness. :) I even got a rec, which is totally amazing and kind of awesome to me. *g* So I can't wait to crosspost it over here, yay! \o/

And now for a shower and some food. I've already called my parents, so now all that's left to do is veg out and enjoy the rest of my Christmas day by NOT DOING ANYTHING AT ALL \o/
