...don't kill me for this, but to be honest, I'm a little jealous - you got hated on, yo! status right there. and you got the best sort of thread, too - a vague dislike, no personal attacks, and immediate defense of your writing by those who know what they like. There isn't a writer born who can write something liked by *everyone*, but if the worse people can say about your writing is that they're personally bored by insightful character analyses...what's the opposite of 'damning with faint praise'? ('sides, the original poster hasn't read your recent action stuff, 'cuz you haven't posted it. I'm not that familiar with your older writing, but you sure as hell can write action now.)
I'm amused by that comm myself - when it gets vicious on the authors, wish they'd close that down faster, but the regular venting about fics...*shrug* it's not meant to be critique, just harmless whining. I'll bitch about movies and books and series and such that I dislike; don't see why fics that have been freely presented to the public should be exempt from that...
