I think the big issue is that during the year, when I call my mom, she gets out all the nagging about everything else in my life out of the way and just bugs me about, like, my posture and my looks and my weight when I visit, rather than LIFE DECISIOOOOOONS.
Whereas my dad, if he talks to me on the phone, it's basically to make sure I am a) alive and b) healthy. EVERYTHING ELSE, HE SAVES UP UNTIL THIS ONE WEEK.
