Just got off the phone with an interviewer.

... I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WENT. D: She seemed really nice! But there were a few things I had little-to-no experience with, and now I'm all worried. D:

AUGH.

Gambatte!

Don't worry about the stuff you don't have experience with. If you impressed them, they'll teach you the odds and ends. If you have the base breadth of experience and knowledge, that's probably enough.

And it's normal for the HR recruiter to be fairly neutral. They don't do the job, they just got this packet of questions that the department heads gave them because they're too busy to interviw everyone so these guys cut the chaff. After they've talked to you and you've passed the the first green light, they are going to go talk to the department head and if the department head will decide if they want to talk to you in person.

Remember, I thought my in person interview with them went okay. Not awesome. Not great. Potentially good, but definitely at least okay. I had to get through 7 people and it went two and a half hours and I was half an hour late because I GOT LOST and I had to stop the interview half way through because I HAD TO MOVE MY CAR, and ARRRG. They were poker-faced the entire time.

And they called me back, not saying, "well, we're going to give you a chance," but "OMG ANN WE WANT YOU PLEASE COME WORK FOR US AND WE WILL SPOIL YOU!11!1eleven".

So, finally in my long-winded pep-talk: If you didn't get it, most interviews, at their core, tend to be the same stuff. "So why are you interested in this position?" "So tell me about a time when blah blah blah happened, and how did you deal with it?" x 20, "What are you looking for in a company," "blah blah."

Even if you weren't an in with them, you just got free practice when the next one comes along :)
