I just spent the past two hours reading depressing and terrifying news articles. Pandemics to come, parents dying, wars and the whole sad shaky unstable way of the world today.
And maybe it's a small and petty and pathetic thing, but hey guys?
Tell me something nice, or something that makes you happy. Please?

Why do you think I keep all these pictures of you guys all happy and smiling in the sunshine at my desk? :)

I appreciate the offer, though -- thank you. :) Even if we don't know each other that well or anything, that's very kind of you♥
... also I'd read happyfic if I could. D: But of my pairings of the moment, for two I've pretty much READ everything with them, and the last two ... are almost decidedly unhappy in the eyes of fandom. And yet I keep trying. D:

I haven't been to one-proper in a while, though I've gone to the baker stalls at the local farmer's market. Isn't quite the same, but it's still a nice change of pace.
--though now, I'm sort of thinking I should go, because yeah, bakeries. ♥

Warning: Oncoming Squishiness
Well, for starters, this icon makes me happy. XD I'm happy that I'm out of class for the summer. I'm happy that I get to game today, and I'm happy we got to have such a Who-binge this week. I'm happy that I'll be going home this weekend and seeing my family, but I'm also very happy that I have such a great group of friends (and such an awesome, funny, good-hearted, smart, and understanding roommate) to look forward to coming back to.
I'm happy that the sun is shining and that someone has already linked icanhascheezburger.com. I'm happy to be alive, even in this mixed-up, fixed-up, topsy-turvy world of ours, and I'm happy to be your friend. ♥

Re: Warning: Oncoming Squishiness
Well, I'm glad that you're going to get to see your family and spend time with them, but I'm also looking forward to when you get back, so that I have my awesome roommate to harass with random macros and links and the like. :D (I promise not to take over your room while you're gone. ;))
Really, I'm happy to be alive, too. I just to sometimes be reminded. ♥

As a stand by, yummy food and a favorite childhood movie always make my day better. With pajamas.
From:

Though man, it's kind of ridiculous how much good food can improve my mood/day. Even if it's really simple, there's something so so nice about tasty foods. AND childhood favorite movies, though that would be tasty in a totally different meaning of the word. XD

What makes the Katie happy
--Making a bowl of popcorn and reading a book I've read so many times I know the characters like I know myself.
--Reading a fairy tale.
--Talking to people I haven't spoken to in a while and being reminded that even if we don't get to talk much, they care about me.
--Managing to do something I thought would be really difficult.
As someone has said, even if we haven't known each other too long, I'm here if you want to email/IM about stuff. My LJ name is my standard username most places, and I have both yahoo and gmail.

Thank you for the offer, too. :) It's really nice to know the option is there. :)

Also the kids in general make me happy, when they're not trying to greviously injure one another/drive me up a wall/etc ♥
...my life this summer is basically work and bum around home reading, so that'll do for now |D
From:

It really is such a nice feeling to be appreciated by your bosses -- and hell, I did a stint as a camp counselor for a summer, I really admire anyone who can work and get along with kids well. :D
--and hell, your summer sounds a lot like my life, only you could replace "reading" with "writing and procrastinating" and it would totally be the same. It's actually not a bad life. :)
Thank you! ♥

I think about all the things I'm currently looking forward to.
For example... At the moment, the very-near to near (within the next several months) future contains:
* Getting a manicure and pedicure (today after work!)
* A week in Vegas (next week!)
* Getting kitties (July)
* Working the MS company picnic's puzzle event (July)
* Meet-up with a bunch of online friends (August)
* PAX, with another JoCo concert (August)
* Chris' birthday to plan (October)
* NaNoWriMo (November)
* Visiting my dad, and bringing Chris along (November)
* Visiting Chris' parents again for Xmas
Not to mention random fun weekends, spending time with people, etc. :D
From:
no subject
And you're getting kitties?! I want to see your kitties when you get them. D: My apartment doesn't allow pets, so I have to live vicariously through others! Are you getting two, or more? :D

clearly he is the most remarkable child ever to have been born to man.It has been posited that Arashi fans are the happiest people on earth. (http://darkeyedwolf.livejournal.com/226332.html)
You know arashi, right? (http://darkeyedwolf.livejournal.com/219056.html) (kind of picture-heavy, as a heads-up.)
Steven Colbert and John Stewart always make me feel better about being an american, when the fact that our government is made of morons gets me down. Cause hey! There are smart people with common sense here! <3 It restores some of my tattered faith in humanity, particularly after watching "real" news programs.
If all else fails, tea makes everything better. There's never a situation that's NOT helped by tea of some sort.

I'm not a religious person, but there's something about Christmas time that makes me all happy and stuff. So whenever I'm REALLY down I go make myself some tea and play some Christmas music. Corny and nostalgic, but it makes me go all warm and fuzzy inside.
From:
no subject
And I'm not religious either, actually; it's not something I think very often about, though when I do, I think I'm rather agnostic more than anything else. But there's something really beautiful about the hymns that get sung at Christmas, I agree; I also play them year-round. :) Who cares if people look at me funny for having them in July, a lot of it is genuinely comforting, in my opinion; that's what I think a lot of it was for.

B. I get paid tomorrow.
C.Due to some extra free time at work and my trusty friend Barnes and Nobles dot com, my reading list has just expanded to over fifty books AND I've found two new series/authors to read, Laura Joh Rowland and Jon Katz.
E. I get paid tomorrow.
F. icanhascheeseburger.com
G. I get paid tomorrow.
H. Starbucks has raspberry mocha frappuchinos.
I. I get paid tomorrow.
J. I have that comic I've been whining about for the past month.
K. I get paid tomorrow.
L. 300 comes out in July, too.
M. I get paid tomorrow.
N. Fuzzy puppies and kittens. And Benadryl, to go with the fuzzy kittens.

X. I'm about to go curl up in bed with a good book.
Y. I get paid tomorrow.
Z. And finally, a line from one of my absolute favorite hymns,
This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
Ta-da! There you go, things that make me happy.
From:

--and oh, hey, you've reminded me, I get paid tomorrow too. XD ALSO fantastic, because moving has done nasty things to my account and there's a lot of shinies that my magpie self is compulsively whining over. ;) I haven't tried the raspberry mocha frappuchinos yet -- I was honestly kind of disappointed by the orange ones, and I usually love oranged-flavored stuff. :\ Is the raspberry any good?
Apartments with friends are awesome! I think, at any rate; the trick is really to NOT FREAK OUT about things. Freaking out (on either part's side) tends to breed a lot of resentment that just builds up and turns ugly. But seriously, apartments with your buddies are great -- my roommate and I are slowly but surely turning our living room into a proper geek's den♥
Thank you again for the list! it was very nice to read♥♥

bribeconvince someone to go with me.I ... confess, there are times where I wish my tiny fandoms were larger (if only so that there'd be other people to throw ideas at and make cute eyes to see if they'll write it), but. There is overall, I think, a sense of better-feeling in the tiny fandoms, because we're all sticking together♥
Puppies are AWESOME FOR CHEERING UP♥ I live vicariously through people on my flist with pets. T^Tb
Also, you two are hilariously cute. XD If I had a stamp of approval, I would give it to you -- since I don't, imagine that I would!
