Yep, that username ^^ Your e-mail counts as the gmail chat thing. I guess a bit like msn and hotmail work, except gmail > hotmail. The chat makes little bloop noises if there's a new message, and it'll switch between "inbox" and "XX is typing..." if you've got a chat going. I like to pop the chat windows out so that it's easier to switch between chatting and browsing. Of course, I've never had more than one or two conversations going on at a time.
Actually, there are a lot of multiple-floor places here, simply because building up conserves more space than building across. The MosBurger (kind of like a McDonald's, but Japanese) has two floors, and I've seen a three-floor cafe down in Osaka... and a three-floor McDonald's in Tokyo. XD
