This just in: friends don't let friends write fanfic drunk.
No, really,
theladyfeylene got a bit tipsy at dinner while she was in the process of writing something. We read the results later, and it will be forever immortalized by the line, And then there was pain.
Which actually sounds like a lot of the one-line quips we toss around when talking, but hey. XD Sooner or later it shall be typed up and posted, and at which point I will pimp it, if only to stand as a warning to those who may attempt such things in the future. XD (With permission, naturally. SHE SAID WE COULD SO THERE.)
Also went out with housemates to see "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," and got to stand around in line with a towel over my head. Alan Rickman's true calling in life is to voice a maniacally depressed robot. :D :D I seriously want a little stuffed yarn Marvin. (Anyone who's seen the movie will probably know what I mean. XD) Not THE most accurate, no, but still a lot of fun, and I think, worth the viewing. :D Maybe not the sort of movie the purist Douglas Adams fan will want to watch, but if you're a casual or distant fan, I'd say give it a shot. :D
I SO want a copy of the opening song, too. I shall pipe it downstairs early in the morning, so that it's the first thing
rivendellrose wakes up to. :D :D :D She's going to kill me. :D
For me, I think what matters more is if a movie gets the SPIRIT of the books, even if they're not fanatically accurate. "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" was light, and fun, and funny, and it followed most of what I remember -- therefore, I'd say it was a success. :D Tomorrow, we're gonna watch "Howl's Moving Castle," which should be fun -- saw the preview for it (Disney's finally bringing it over, haha) and it looks so pretty. *_*
I think, not-so-secretly, I am a whore for the pretties. :3
Finally, stupid pimpage: because it was so long, and I was actually proud of this. XD; And Home Once More, fic I wrote for
