So I'm watching a housemate play Resident Evil 4 through for a second time (a different housemate, but it's the second time I've seen the game through) and man, I'd forgotten how damn scary the Regenerators were.
It's not even so much the fact that they need a specialized method to kill them if you don't want to waste tons of ammo flinging things at them, oh no.
It's the way they sound as they come towards you, that grinding raspy wet-asthmatic noise. Or the fact that if they kill you, your game over screen is overlaid by wet chewing noises. (I've actually screamed aloud at these parts. My biggest problem in horror is that while I'm not easily scared, but I am very, very easily startled. Even without caffeine!)
For the longest time I'd heard all these mixed reviews about the series, but now I almost want to see the movies. Housemate has them, it's just a matter of ... finding the time to watch them. (Ogod, so much stuff this weekend to do.)
The whole repetetive motion thing the "regular" enemies have even after their heads are gone is kinda freaky too.
... SILENT HILL COMES OUT THIS MONTH OK WHO IS COMING Y/N.
