But since I can't sleep, Kingdom Hearts stuff instead.
I know that
sjen linked to the YouTube versions of these a while back, but this is the most fantastic site for cut scene comparison. (I've only watched up through what I've played -- that is to say I've gone back to Hollow Bastion yet again and called it quits before wandering off to find things to hit with a big stick key, but.)
Donald's Japanese voice is pretty damn impressive, but Goofy is ... I dunno, he has the same flavor of Goofy's voice down, if that makes sense, but it somehow bothers me more than the English Goofy. (This may be because I was one of those little kids raised wide- and bright-eyed on Disney -- including old black-and-white Disney so yay for Timeless River -- and it's like I just heard DONALD DUCK use "antagonize" what the HELL and. Yeah. XD) And yet when I looked it up they're BOTH done by Yamadera Kouichi, so consider my mind blown. (Actually, the whole trivia list is really cool, but that may only be if you're sleep-deprived and a dork for voices like I can be.)
--though if we're really going to complain about the voices, I gotta say that the lady whom they got for Shock was just grating to me. D: But this is also because Nightmare Before Christmas is like my favoritest movie from childhood EVER and still holds a huge place in my heart now; the major reason I was even first interested in giving the whole Kingdom Hearts universe a whirl is because of the Nightmare world. Srsly. And so the fact that she sounds like Phil'n'Lil from the Rugrats (it's the same lady, it's been confirmed) just ... kind of bothers me, because I didn't like Rugrats. XD; She made a better Sally, honestly.
But THEN I saw one that had Riku and I was thiiiiis close to clicking on it, but stopped myself. Because I totally want to hear Miyano Mamoru in a SERIOUS (well, sorta? I think? I'm guessing?) role, as opposed to flowers-n-hearts Tamaki, but.
On a final note -- you know those really horrible, painful, hideous crossover ideas that should never be written and you're ashamed of yourself for even thinking of them, but there's still some small guilty part of you that goes but hey, that'd be Really Kind Of Cool and picks at it until you either break down and do it, or find something else equally bad to distract you? Yeaaah, so the whole crossover nature of the KH franchise doesn't help.
But Silent Hill is ALL ABOUT manifesting the darkness in someone's heart. REALLY.
Riiiiiiiight, sleeping.
I know that
