I'm sort of cheating, since I don't EAT breakfast, but it's a gorgeous sunny Saturday (in Seattle) and I still have a half-hour to kill before lunch. (Not because of obligations, like when I'm at work, but because if I eat now I won't eat later and then it'll be like midnight and I will be craving a full meal and that's not something I can handle so late at night. XD;)

Survival Horror Beastiary Count: 10 [other than the Chop-Licker and an unnamed anteater-type, I have a crow derrivative, several people derrivatives, and bugs; [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu has suggested spiders, which intrigues me]

1. Broken halogen lamps on the side of the road. The tall standing kind, which I've heard are fire hazards? One was at the bus stop, inside the covered area, like it was just waiting for the 26 to come by and take it somewhere. That one was in one piece; the one at the end of the block had been unscrewed in the middle, but the top and bottom were still attached by the internal wiring. And you know what, I think it'd be really atmospheric if you had a game where you walked into a long narrow hallway full of lamps that went out (rather than on) as you approached, so you-the-player are always walking in darkness, but the light is juuuuust one step ahead, if you can just reach it in time. And behind you, you can hear the skittery scritchy noise of thousands of tiny little legs moving across the walls and the floor and the ceiling, devouring the room after you.

2. A heart drawn in cement of the sidewalk. It's weird, because I've walked down 50th many, many times, usually looking down, but I've never noticed it before. Today, though, I happened to see my foot land right smack-dab in the middle of it.

3. The Lovers: carrot style. I ended up not getting carrots at the farmers market today, but every single bunch I picked up included a pair of carrots locked in some passionate veggy embrace. And even in their eventual death, they will NEVAR! be separated, because they'd sort of grown together, stuck-like.

4. Pumpkin-filled pasta. So that might not be unusual for some people, but it was for me, and now it's mine. Haha!

5. Polite not-entirely-unattractive firemen. This is also not unusual, but it's mostly because [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu has the worst luck ever trying to fulfill her firemen fetish, and I always seem to find them when she doesn't. So they're unusual for her, and I guess that counts.

6. A little tiny girl (with a little tiny guitar to match her) sitting at the bus stop with this grizzle-haired old man, trying very earnestly to plink out a little tiny song. Which I thought was really cute, and I heard the guy praising her and looked back and she was all :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD at him.

Later today, chocolate cafe! Earlier than that, lunch! And even earlier than THAT, writing! Alex is a stubborn bastard. Why you gotta suddenly be so hard to write, dude? Why? D:
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I finally finished it. [prods it] No internet distractions = good for productivity. Or at least finishing what I start.

IN WHICH MORE FORESHADOWING HAPPENS. I think at this point what's left IS the Sequel of Doom and I'm. Er. Intimidated. 8D
