Really, I'm not! Here, have a CAPSULE-SIZED VERSION OF EVENTS.
1. Work just continues to remain INSANE -- on my one-on-one, my boss essentially told me: "We have a new policy, just implemented. You're not allowed to take vacations any more."
Which on the one hand is kind of flattering, because it shows they acknowledge I'm necessary; on the other hand, CRY for the next I want a break. XD;
(Mom and I are talking about a family vacation, now that she's retiring, Dad will be, and I have a fulltime job [what?]. Which we're thinking is about a week, and -- oh god, if two days was bad, a week makes me weep to think. But it'll be during the summer, and I hear we're less busy then ...)
BUT THE QUEUE IS SLOWLY GOING DOWN. We celebrated when we hit the sixty mark! Mostly by Coworker JC waving a three-day-old donut at me and me going "duhrrrr?" a lot.
2. Coke Zero is ... better than diet, but still tastes kind of nasty. Aspartame leaves this awful pasty aftertaste in the back of my throat, so I think that, despite the high-frutcose corn syrup, I shall stick to regular cokes/pepsi. My one concession! I've cut out other things, man. D:
3. Black Blood Brothers is the best cheesy vampire series that no one will ever watch. I mean, it's got drama and angsty vampires, but it's got DUMB STUPID vampires (with a parasol to avoid the sun, Jirou WHY XD), and the "annoying little kid" that I'm sure most of my friends will want to beat up on sight actually DOES get kicked around quite a bit. By his big brother, aforementioned angsty-dorky vampire with parasol.
I think my big problem with vampire shows is that they try to be too ... something. Too dark, too emo, too gorey, too whatever. I had this problem with Hellsing, Trinity Blood, hell, all the way back to Anne Rice and Laurell Hamilton. I'm bored of the pretty angsty "noble" vampire. I'm bored of the gleeful madman vampire.
Really, what I want is a return to the true oldschool folkloric vampire, the creature that's little more than an animated corpse that turns red and swells all shiny and swollen after it's drunk, and we could have the virgin boy on the white horse find the grave!
Barring that, though, funny vampires are A++ -- so are sexy vampire ladies who dress practically (i.e., a long-sleeved T-shirt and jeans, not metallic T-back or what) who may or may not have been OT3-ish with angsty-stupid parasol vampire and their not-quite-all-there blonde "princess" who only just recently had her name revealed.
However, it's only going to be twelve episodes from what I hear, so damn. >_> The first actual show I pick up in a long time, and it ... is going to be half a season, boo.
But that means it's really short so maybe more people will pick it up! :D :D :D
4. I got FOUR HOURS MAYBE LESS of sleep last night! CAN YOU TELL Y/N.
5. Related: Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori is, two episodes in, already more creepy than the first series, it feels. Which I like, and I especially am glad for more focus on Ai's attendants -- my audial crush on Matsukaze Masaya is a sad, sad thing.
...
I'mma finish my lunch now. Maybe if I do early enough, I can work on FIC. 8D
