In lieu of the meta I was going to write, mostly because I realized somewhere along the way that I'm so braindead I was essentially finding new and interesting ways to repeat myself--

DEAR WORLD:

There is a direct correlation between the amount of flowery purple prose/pretentious thematic imagery (for the sake of being "edgy" or "different")/overblown flourishes used and the mediocrity (but attendant arrogance) of a writer.
