You know, I'm not really much into reading Epic Fantasy any more these days -- I read it so much as a kid that I practically glutted on the stuff *g* -- but these days, I'm a lot more fond of urban fantasy. Stories where our world blends with the supernatural, I am so there I was reading it yesterday. *g*

(Fairytales, obviously, don't count here. Fairytales are awesome no matter what they are.)

But that doesn't stop a piece of fairly epic "high fantasy" music from totally getting to me, to the point where I can see the white castles and dramatic swordfights between masked men and women in black robes and bird-masks and the sky on fire.

Guys, guys, I love the music I'm listening to right now. o/ (A piece by Immediate Music called "Electric Romeo.") It makes me want to write things. LUNCHBREAK CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH. \o/

P.S. Senpai! I watched the first two episodes of Storm Hawks last night. :Db I WILL BE WATCHING MORE, I THINK /o/

For me, the whole team dynamic is so great. If I had to pick a "favorite" it'd be a toss up between Finn and Stork, but you know me ^^;;.

My brother watches Storm Hawks every morning here! I think, anyways. XD It looks pretty spunk & awesome, from snippets I manage to catch before heading out to school. I haven't watched a single episode fully yet, aha.

Re: fantasy genre-- YOUTH DENIES ME OF JOYS. ALAS, I FIGHT. D: I've never really... touched this hood of imaginary before, literary-wise, despite being ridiculously infatuated with the genre-type grâce à la Japonaise. But since quasi-exampunks are now over, I decided it's time to feed this malnourished innerchild. It's kind of going awkwardly, but I'm trying to say the least. |Db (ON THIS NOTE: have you heard of the manga Yami no Kodou? It sort of pinged back when you mentioned supernatural coalesced with some form of ah, reality.)

(Also, hey! This is versine, on her new journal. XD)

There was only one episode I remembered, purely because there were tentacles. :( I think the crew landed on some deserted amusement park, and hijinks ensued. IT WAS VERY AWESOME, as much as I can recall, and I'm planning on watching the series with brotherface, once I quit being a slugabed. /o/

I WILL LOOK OUT FOR THIS. Aha, I'm just-- mainly going with books I've known people to have liked so far. 8) Since my knowledge is kind of narrow and non-existent. (Ah, no worries! Just curious; it sounded like something you might've read. XD)

heeeey, yo! ♥

Heh, I'm the opposite. I read a lot of urban fantasy while in high school, so right now I'm going through an epic fantasy phase. Though that's dwindling down now.

Got any recommendations? *in desperate need of new fantasy books*

Random commentjacking to say oh my GOD, someone besides me read Raymond Feist when they were a kidlet! I haven't touched those books for years, but I read and reread them far too much in middle school.

^^ Hahaha, I've read all of those, except for James Alan Gardner who I'll look up the next time I'm at the bookstore. But hey! Our tastes are similar then.

I actually should reread Janny Wurt's series. I remember starting on them, but I think it may have been over my reading level when I tried. So never quite got into them.

I'm...pretty much the same on the fantasy thing!

Then Scott Lynch wrote The Gentleman Bastard Sequence and I was SUNK. Though probably, you could argue that those series of books has less to do with magic than it has to do with PURE AWESOME, PLOT AND CHARACTER.

o/ WATCH MORE STORM HAWKS.

Then you should read the Gentlemen Bastard. The first book is The Lies of Locke Lamora and it's kinda like "IF CLAMP PUBLISHED BOOKS".

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ♥

You should! (A-And you should probably pick up the sequel ahead of time too orz)

Storm Hawks! \o/ Watch Finn be a consistent ball of adolescent self-centered FAIL, yet still manage to be awesome in spite of (because of?) this! Watch Junko be the sweetest and most considerate heavyweight juggernaut in the history of ever! Watch Stork prove once and for all that you don't have to be a bishie to be the fandom woobie! Watch Radarr take the title of "token animal sidekick" to a whole new level of badassery! Watch Piper and Aerrow hit inte_grit_y's OTP kinks sixteen ways from Sunday with their simple understated working partnership! Watch Master Cyclonis be the most frighteningly capable evil overlord since Azula from Avatar! Watch the Dark Ace combine the ever-thwarted cartoon villain archetype with occasional moments of complexity to great effect!

Basically, yes, WATCH MOAR! XP

I, for one, see nothing embarrassing at all about crushing on Master Cyclonis! ♥ Though I do have to wonder that two of the most effective and badass villains I've seen in the past few years have been young teenage girls. XPPP
