* On the bus this morning, dozing like I always do, I had the most amazingly bizarre set of words pop into my head, all from the pov of Pasiphae about her strange and peculair love affair with the bull, but by the time I got to my desk and a computer, I was too awake to remember most of it. It had lots of repetition, though, and rambling on the ideas of madness. I'm tempted to try seeing what I can recover from my memory when I get home from work.

* I haven't started my [livejournal.com profile] imaginarybeasts story because I have too many ideas. Do I write about the Carnival as it began? The origins of the Oracle? A more successful performance where they got to take everyone with them? SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY? Ahhhhhh, there are so many choices. 8(

* DGM-related: since Allen is confirmed to be the Fourteenth, how does this tie into him having Innocence? (And parasitic, to boot.) I mean, there's that one brief sidechapter about Skinn, but it's remarked that Wrath is sort of a special case, unlike the rest of the Memories--is there signifigance to this? Was it just luck that Allen's Innocence woke before his other nature? Did the other Noah have this sort of dual potential before they awoke, or is it just that since Allen is the main character, he really is a special unicorn? Will Hoshino's hand fall off before we ever find out? WHO KNOWS. \o/

* I am so glad it's not snowing. :( I am loving this really clear (if cold) sunny weather, especially since I got my new coat. My mom is good to me. ♥

* Guys, I desire to go to Nishino again. I was dreaming of that tuna tartare with the taro chips. :( I talked to [livejournal.com profile] vulchu who says she could maybe do it in March, IS ANYONE ELSE IN THE AREA INTERESTED. [livejournal.com profile] miss_arel, I think I still owe you a Christmas present, if you're interested. |D

* On top of that, I want to go to Kinokuniya again. It's been a while, and I want to see if new volumes for the stuff I'm following are out yet. (Or if I know they are, like with Pandora Hearts v7, I want to know if I can buy them yet. This weekend might be devoted to making new icons for my regular account.)

* I want to share music again, even if my tastes are boring and predictable. :( Someone remind me when I get home, and I'll finally start uploading "SONGS I ASSOCIATE WITH X/Y/Z" or something. The plus side of this is also that if I have stuff uploaded to my server, I can access it from work, cough cough.

* Hi everyone. How're you, today?

England was trying to convince me to fly over for my spring break, but the tickets were too expensive. :(

HI BABY |D

You know, I wonder about the Innocence/Noah thing too, especially when I'm tooling around in the dgmdr and I see Noah!Allens who still have their Innocence and I kind of go "Uhhh." I've been wondering! We don't really know how and why Innocence responds to people, IIRC. Whether they're born with that potential or--I mean for Lenalee she was very young when she was taken away, but Chaozii's Innocence didn't react to him until he was not only 19 (I think) but in a life-or-death situation. And the same seems to be true for the Noah, assuming they stop aging when they awaken, which I tend to because it's obviously true in Road's case. Skinn didn't wake up until he was 26, whereas Jasdevi was/were 15, and it's obviously not a case of "you wake up as soon as the previous Wrath/Bonds/etc. dies" because Allen isn't awake yet and the previous 14th is long dead.

I tend to think that it WAS luck (or, you know, THE WILL OF GOD OMG) and that Allen really is a special unicorn as opposed to it being a thing all Noahs can do. Although there's a Tyki in the dgmdr who comes from an AU where his Noah was exorcised at the end of the war, and then Judgement begins reacting to him, so he has his memories wiped and becomes an Exorcist. Which is like one of the only interesting things ever in the dgmdr.

ME TOO ;o; HOSHINOOOO. What I would kind of love is if it truly is a full two-way street and everyone who's an Exorcist DOES have the Noah potential; most just never find out because it stays dormant. The 14th passed his powers on to Allen specifically, but there isn't really any indication that it usually happens that way, and it's presented more as like a genetic-ISH thing that pops up in a person who has the required "genes" when they're needed because the previous Insert Memory Here died. Like my assumption has always been that for every Tyki, there are other people out there who had the potential to become Pleasure and just happened not to--who knows, anywhere from a few in each generation to thousands around the world. And they'll never find out because Tyki's alive so there's no need for their genes to awaken. IT WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING if those few/dozens/thousands of people were also the potential Exorcists.

If that WERE SO then I would imagine that becoming an Exorcist would prevent that person from later awakening as a Noah (and really, the chances would be minimal anyway, depending on how long each Noah lives and how many potentials there are), but that Allen is a special case because the 14th specifically passed his abilities on to him as opposed to just . . . dying and leaving it up to chance.

I HAVE NO IDEA THOUGH, THIS IS JUST SOMETHING I THINK WOULD BE COOL (and it could be already disproven for reasons I don't remember because I need to reread, sob). It would also open up the possibility that Noahs and Exorcists DO have the same God and that he's a sick fuck who is playing with them, hella Angel Sanctuary style, or alternately that good!God specifically created the Innocence so that potential Noahs would synch with it and not be awakened.

Yah, afaik in the Bible (I SUCK AT THIS TOO) humans are all descended from Noah. It's kind of indicated in DGM that this isn't true, though. [LOOKS IT UP]

after Noah escaped from the Great Flood, [The Ark] is where he created the ancestors of current humanity.

and then

God created a flood to wash away the corruption that had arisen in the world. A human called Noah was allowed to board his ark to escape punishment. The ark landed on Mount Ararat after the waters receded, which is where Noah made a new covenant with God and became the 2nd ancestor of mankind, after Adam. . . . Or at least, that's how it is written . . . on the surface of history . . .

So DGM makes it look like humanity is something Noah MADE instead of his children, and that the story about what happened between Noah and God isn't actually true. WHICH IS INTERESTING a-and I want more information on it sobad ;; Although that puts an interesting new perspective on the Noah family's goals, because if humans are something Noah MADE, then it's sort of unsurprising that the Noah would feel they had the right to destroy them too. And that might just be a lie the Earl is telling the Noah, or that the Noah is telling the Noah, but either way, they treat it as truth.

So it's possible that the Noah, or the Noah and Exorcists, are the actual descendants of Noah, and that the rest of humanity is the descendants of the humans Noah "created."

I was actually thinking of doing Nishino again somewhere around my birthday. Which is in less than a month now.

...It would probably have be with a small number of people, though, because I like amazing tasty food and I like hanging out with large numbers of friends (sometimes), but I think the latter takes too much of my attention away from the former when they happen at the same time. ^^;;

"* On top of that, I want to go to Kinokuniya again."

Me too! I help us both with that need, but not until March. And I don't know when in March, yet, but probably either near the beginning or near the end.

I would definitely join a trip to Nishino! [livejournal.com profile] ratzeo and I had been planning to go for Valentine's Day, except we decided to forego Valentine's Day stuff altogether for political reasons. But! I was sad to miss the excuse for delicious sushi. XD

Oh yeah, I was thinking of joining you for your March trip ('cause going to a fancy restaurant on February 14, even with friends, would sort of defeat my purposes XD). Just let me know when you want to do it - at this point, my March weekends are pretty open!

Today was really windy today D: It wasn't sunny, but it was warm..

It's enough to make me go 'well, I'm maybe a little more drowsy on Friday afternoons than usual and a little less willing to do work', but since it's already Friday afternoon there really isn't much difference to be had at all.

I find 'I'm doing testing work!' to be an excellent lead-in to an afternoon of coastery.
