We rang in 2011 by playing oldschool Sonic the Hedgehog and I had a chicken-and-cheese quesadilla with apple slices. Instead of champagne I had Martinelli's sparkling apple-cranberry cider, and Sammycat was the happiest because both ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
rinkhals and I were sitting on the couch together and it meant he could drape on BOTH OF US AT THE SAME TIME!
If the superstition about "what you're doing at midnight is what you'll have a lot of for the next year," I think I am all right with that. :)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? A lot less, actually! Part of it was just because 2010 at the beginning was a pretty bad year for me; it was a lot of big events spaced by little events, and at least at first, most of those events weren't very good. Then I had a lull where things were more peaceful, and got some more writing done--THEN CAME MORE BUSY EVENTS, so. Yeah. 2010 was nutsssss, but I have hopes for 2011 being a little smoother.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? I never predict anything. :B At this point I am too much of a fandom butterfly to really say "oh, yeah, I'd never write this pairing/fandom/genre" any more.
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? I am super-happy (still!) with The Pale Girl, the story I wrote for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
imaginarybeasts for the Apocalypse/Distopia issue. It started with a single line that popped into my head and just went from there--and it was actually one of the easiest things to write, despite being in first person (which is a narrative style I haven't used in yeeeears) and the fact that actually, I am not a big fan of post-apocalyptic scenarios of hopelessness. :|a
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? Writing for Shousetsu Bang*Bang, probably? PROBABLY. Writing porn in general for me is such a hit-or-miss "am I doin it rite" thing, so to write for a thing that requires explicit sex on the grounds of rejection was INTERESTING. I've learned that I am still pretty spazzy when it comes to writing porn, but I think (I hope?) I've gotten a little more confident about it.
(Watch, this will entirely be a lie.)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? Write more! Again, 2010 was not the best year for me period, in terms of life rising up and smacking me around before it grabbed my arm and dragged me along for the ride. I AM HOPING TO CONQUER THIS, while I've been kind of bad about getting back on the bandwagon, at least I am determined. :B
