Not that anyone knew I was gone, probably, but. XD I spent the weekend-till-now with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
harukami and mackzazzle, which was tremendously fun. :D I also met the famous smarter-than-you cat and was properly serenaded from the bathroom at one point.
However, really, the summary is probably "The Kids Are Not Okay." In summary, I was suposed to:
- Persona 3: tooootally playing this next, yay! I played very little of this, so I wouldn't have to do massive replay when I start my own copy. Will also be more careful, this time, to pay attention in class, since, uh. ... I didn't, before. :|
- Sukisho anime: I've played two of the games and listened to the first four dramas, but now the anime! ... I think I spent a lot of it laughing at Sora being a moron; the animation was kind of iffy quality, but I still laughed! I kind of want a copy of the opening song. :B
- Loveless (anime AND manga): ... I'm sorry. I'M SORRY BUT I'M ALSO NOT SORRY everyone can blame Haru and Zazzle. :( I feel kind of dirty, because cat boys and cat boys are not okay but at the same time, Soubi's kind of hilarious in all the wrong ways. Now it's just a sort of, gosh, I really would like it if Ritsuka GOT A HAPPY ENDING DAMNIT.
- Paniponi Dash: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT. NO SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL. (It's my body temperature, nya~) Hau hau hau.
- Air Gear: ............ so Akito/Agito is really cute and I want to read this now. This is totally Haru's fault, because she admited that she was deliberately picking and choosing the parts to show me, as to get me involved.
There was also delicious pie, conversions to the Church of Unconditional Pie, double-teaming in bookstores, and serious awesome just hanging out with them♥It was so much fun and I am totally plotting how to get them to let me inflict myself on them again.
I ALSO FINALLY STARTED THE PHOENIX WRIGHT GAMES.I finally discovered why everyone thinks Edgeworth is homohomo. I need an 100x100 shot of Edgeworth bowing, so I can have an "Edgeworth Salutes The Bagel" icon.

And I find parts of LOVELESS amusing, but the writing is so bad and it never goes anywhere, so it's a difficult thing to like for very long. :/ Even tho, yes, I like Soubi for some very obvious reasons. ^.^ I actually rather enjoyed how the anime ended versus where it went in the manga.
I didn't know Jayd was coming to visit, mou! ToT I'm gonna miss her.

So far I'm about halfway through v1 and I don't think the writing's that bad; at the very least, I'm enjoying it so far. ^^ I'm pretty sure, knowing myself, that I will stick with the manga for both trainwreck syndrome and wanting to see if Ritsuka gets a happy ending. (Well, and Soubi. He's really funny. :D)

I personally am fond of Akito/Agito/Kaito myself >> not to give ideas or anything.And oh, the Sukisho anime. I watched that when it first came out, and.... XD I loved it, I could tell it was a 12 ep anime set over a few weeks trying to tell a story that was originally set over a few years and four PS2 games, but I still loved it. WAIT FOR THE OVA, AND EP NINE. >> MUCHO NAGASE/GAKU LOVE THERE. And ahaha, oh, the lack of chicks in the anime XD you THINK, FINALLY a chick in the OVA- but no, it's a crossdresser. It's amusing.

Just got my hands on all of Air Gear that's been scanlated to date (though first, I should probably get my way through Loveless), but -- like I said, I was shown parts strategically to get my interest. XD I have nooooo opinions on pairings right now (I don't even know who Kaito is yet!), but I DO know I like Akito/Agito. They're cute. ._.
I actually HAVE the rest of the Sukisho dramas, which would explain more of the plot, I've ... just not gotten around to listening, eheh. I did like that Gaku was suddenly a larger player than he had been in the parts I did follow (because seriously, Gaku's cuuuuute♥), and someday I WILL get around to finding out what happened (god the fourth drama ended on such a terrible cliffhanger), but ... not yet. XD Oh, Sukisho, I am so oddly fond of you.
The Loveless anime is pretty -- I was impressed that it remained exceedingly gorgeous throughout; that almost never happens, even in such a short series. (However, I did go ahead and pick up the manga! So maybe I will get to figure out more.) As for Yuiko, I actually like her quite a bit! She's a sweet girl and I think it's good for Ritsuka to have an unconditional friendship like hers; I really like that she and Soubi totally get along, and ... well, really, she's cute. :| Keep in mind I've only seen the anime and v1 of the manga, but that is what I think of her so far!

AND NO REALLY? Just wait for the second game. And um yeah, ahaha, YOU ACT LIKE IT FOLLOWS REAL LAW. And that is also a fun series to play with pairings, because dude, the hints be EVERYWHERE for just about any pairing (this be the series that a friend kidded only not that they outdue Saiyuki's mangaka at "subtext that god isn't even TRYING to be subtext anymore") but it has fun people in it too and just.... I will play with it, one day. And it's also a fun series to crossover with random stuff for fun. I think friend and I brought up like... HP/Phoenix Wright x-overs and other crazy things. I will get insane one day and actually feed that PW/Code Geass bunny hopping around in my mind one day. BUT THAT'S SOMETIME ELSE
And I hope you like it! It took me a bit to get used to Oh!Great (a bit too much fanservice for me, and Ikki can gross me out at times) but overall a great series. The anime can be fine at times, good at times, and confusing as hell at times to those who didn't read the manga. But then they like.. were INSANE and had a episode that covered a whole volume, I kid you not. That ep condensed like the fourth HP movie!
I don't know Japanese myself, but XD My love for Sukisho is very great so I educated myself a LOT- and god, I want the game that has Gaku as a main character (little game that came with the Fan Disk) and I actually RPed Ren Shiina once upon a time- but game!Ren because the poor chibis understandably didn't have much time put into their back story in the anime so they just plain didn't get into it. I actually got the artbook, and it was very worth it. The pretty <3 I think it also helped that from that RPing I met someone who was GREAT at RPing Gaku, and who does some of the best NagaseGaku fic and we just have a lot of fun fangirling XD
And the manga is very pretty too- but then, she did do Earthian as well. And god, happy you like her <3 For some reason a chunk of the fandom doesn't :( But she's one of my favorite characters and her and Soubi have GREAT interaction and really people are being silly, thinking she would get in the was of Soubi and Ritsuka- because really, if anything it's the other was around. Yes, Ritsuka and Yuiko could have been something, but Ritsuka is way too focused on other things, and because Soubi is there I think that would be a roadblock.
But then from how the fandom talks, you would think relationships is the main thing of Loveless. I love the characters, and their interactions, but I'm there first and foremost for the story. Because it is a very interesting story~!

Sukisho is definitely one of my favorite BL series -- I appreciate something that can balance a lot of stupid fluffy funny along with a pretty serious "OH MY GOD THEY WERE EXPERIMENTED ON!!1!" storyline. And things come together better than you'd think, or at least it seemed that way back when I was first involved with the storyline. XD It's not something I think I can fic for on a regular basis (but maybe I just need to get reimmersed in the canon? I never did get to finish the anime ToT), but -- well. I kind of want to write Loveless fic, and Haru promised that she'd take the blame for it, as one of my birthday presents. :|b

I happen to also have huge voice-crushes on half the cast BUT THAT IS ALMOST BESIDE THE POINT.I'm on the fifth case of the first game now! IT'S STILL HOMOHOMO oh my god. A friend was talking to me when I first went into Edgeworth's office, and I just. Kind of stopped. And showed it to her!

From what I understand, Air Gear isn't as fanservicetastic as Tenjo Tenge was, and if that's the case, I should be fine -- I never got very much into that series, but it was less for the fanservice and more because it just didn't spark my interest. Most everyone else I know has told me to avoid the anime, so! I will focus on finishing up with the manga first. ... slowly, because I still need to read Loveless and have not had a chance this past week, what with visiting people and then having a guest myself. XD
Honestly, I don't know much about the story or characters past the second game -- I knew that Ren and Sei existed, but I didn't know much about them, otherwise. XD Really, I just wanted Chris to have a cameo in the anime, but it was never to beeeeee. T_T
I can understand why the fandom doesn't like Yuiko, though -- it's the same problem they have with Orihime (whom I also really like!) in Bleach. She's the busty, airheaded "annoying" girl who clings too much and is too dependant on the hero, and thus poses as an "obstacle" to popular fangirl pairings. (Never mind that I actually VASTLY prefer Ichigo/Orihime to any of the other Ichigo pairings, but especially Ichigo/Rukia.) I think Yuiko would be really good for Ritsuka (she already has been, from what I've seen) if they went beyond friendship, but ... then there's Soubi. However, the fact that Yuiko and Soubi are actually friends too is pretty awesome, I think. XD
Fandoms always want shipping. It's almost impossible to get anything else out of them. D:

So we all saw he was leaving, so people were asking for autographs on his way past us, and he turns to me holding out the slipcover(I've started JUST taking taking that to con, so I don't have five DVDs that don't need to be there on me all day) and he goes ".......ah, the gay demon." I kid you not XD I giggled at that, and he was on his way.
Time passes, I make my way through the line (this was a LONG line, I luckily had friends who were already standing in line, but this was like... two-three hours in line. With the line stopping whenever Scott Mcneil got up or something of that like) and I'm to the end, which is Scott. Two VAs had joined after I'd made it through their part of the line, and I thought "...maybe?" with one but that is past. So, at Scott, and as he is getting ready to sign mine I hear guy next to him talking, and it IS Kantarou's VA! I proceed to be very rude and ignore Scott while I go "Can you please sign this??" to Mr. Shepard who is happy to see a fan of the series XD I apologized to Scott after the signing was done, but I was HAPPY.
..........and what is it with cons? I start fandorking for VAs I'm normally just "they're cool :o" about XD
Yeaaaah. Just wait for later parts XD AND I GOT PREORDER WITH T&T 8D I have chibi!Phoenix for my keys <3 I had him "dance" on the DS during the last part of the last case, instead of using a stylus XD It was fun.
Eh, I'm just very picky with fanservice I think? Or I was, I think O!G got me a bit more used to it :o The anime was amusing, just- um, not good for first time people? Yuiko and Ritsuka are a very good pair, they just help out each other a lot. I think what people miss is that Ritsuka doesn't really want relationships. THAT is the biggest thing to deal with. He didn't want his friends, he just sorta ended up with them XD Ritsuka has been hurt a lot, and while Ritsuka is very good for Soubi in some ways, I wonder how much that works the other way. Soubi COULD be good, but I don't think he will be :/ But that's not the point of relationships, sooooo
Well, Loveless always gets called BL which makes me laugh XD It's a mystery! It just happens to have BL in it. Earthian was much more BL, looking at the two you can see Ritsuka and Soubi just have a connection. A very interesting connection, that would be fun to play with, but calling it a romantic relationship simplifies it too much I think?
I mean, I like shipping too. But the best convos I have is when I tear apart characters and think about what makes them tick with others XD
