HAY GUYZ IS THE INTERNET STILL DEAD?
Today, I feel incredibly like a BUM. But I was paranoid enough to log onto my work machine and confirm that yes, I DO in fact have today off, so -- I think I will eat food and try this writing thing. :|b
But first, though I mentioned it in my 2007 posting summary, I'mma pimp out my Yuletide 2007 fic, 'cos it sort of makes me ridiculously happy. \o/

An original fairytale, of sorts: I took the original skeleton-concept of "The Boy Who Left Home To Learn About The Shivers" and ... ran away with it. *g* I'd been asked for either a slashy retelling of a fairytale or a slashy original one, and this is what I came up with! \o/
(Anyone who's read my
imaginarybeasts story might recognize elements. This is, I promise, entirely intentional. XD)

hope you don't mind if I lurk" but— I see this! That is to say: I've decided to friend you, hope you don't mind. (You write fairy tales! Surely this must be destiny.8D) ♥ [:But, about The Boy Without Fear: GUH. Where do I start? (I admit I'm a bit biased towards fairy tale-type stories, it's been a while (not since I read
I can see how it would make you ridiculously happy, because it made me ridiculously happy, too! :DD
I mean, the language, first of all. It's extremely hard (in my opinion, I've met those who think it's a piece of cake ) to get the language down, which words to use to make it not only SOUND like a fairy tale, but FEEL like one, too. You pulled it off extremely well. [:
It was so easy to just be drawn into it at times. For example, when the demon ripped out his heart/the wyvern's-blood bottle I freaked out. I really did. I mean:
The demon laughed again as its claws tore through flesh and bone till it closed around pumping muscle
In the back of my mind I just knew he couldn't die, not really, it's a fairy take (Disney spoiled me. D: I always think fairy tales are
horribleimcomplete without a happy ending), but in the forefront of my mind I was freaking out! DD:But he lives! :D And all is well.
Your characters made me smile. [: I, of course, have a crush on Walker-Without-Shadow, but the Green Prince has a little place in my heart, too.
ANYWAY. It was amazing. [: I had to stop myself from capslocking this entire comment. ♥

(I love fairytales, honestly. I love them to pieces; the one theme for
♥♥♥♥ BUT STILL: gosh, thank you so much for reading this, and I'm so incredibly flattered that you like it! \o/ I find the peculiar language of fairytales conditionally easy; once I get going, it's not so bad -- but it's a bit hard to get into it, and if I go for too long, I fall out of it again. XD I'm glad it worked for this, given the headaches it caused me from time to time. (My roommate laughed at me a lot during early December. XD)
And I am also incredibly sappy, and if I can swing it, I will always have a happy ending. :|b I know fairytales aren't necessarily always so, but for myself, personally, I hate ending things on a low note. XD This applies to pretty much everything I write, actually; I CANNOT SUSTAIN ANGST FOR LONG. :|b
But thank you so much for reading and commenting! ♥♥♥ You're terribly kind♥
