So. Sometimes, I have this amazing peculiar thing called a "life"! I should look into getting that checked, it sometimes interferes with my doing everything else. :|b
6 AM -- wake up. V. grumpy, because even though I went to bed super-early (11:30) the night before, getting up at 6 hurts me in my soul, especially when I'm going to work rather than Victoria. :(
7:10 AM -- arrive at work ten minutes late! Rawr and frarff a bit, but get to work anyway.
UNTIL 4 PM -- work. Or pretend to work. Most of the company got today off, so it's not like there was a lot of new stuff coming in. I think by 1, everyone had given up the pretense of doing much, as our queues stood at a beautiful glorious 0 for the rest of the day.
4:30 PM -- arrive at Kinokuniya♥ My love, I've missed you! Find out that they have 07-Ghost 3-5, but not 1 & 2 (gg, Kinos, gg). Buy them anyway and special-order 1 and 2, as have ordered through Kinos many times and they know me by now.
MORE SPECIAL: found the newest Wasabi Maguro BL volume! I'd been considering ordering it from JPQueen for ... uh, several months now, since I discovered she'd put a new one out. For the uninitiated, Wasabi Maguro is another pen name of Higashiyama Kazuko, who is one of the writer-artists for Tactics♥♥♥ BUY IT LIKE A BUYING FIEND. It looks to be her take on the schoolboy/harem genre. I'm really okay with this, guys. Wasabi Maguro's retarded sense of everything makes me happy. :|b
(And it's weird, because I've never seen Kinos carry any of her other books before, ever. EVER. But there I was, and there it was -- maybe it was fate! :D ... no.)
5:30 PM -- arrive home! Go wave noodly arms at roommate-thingit till she agrees to accompany out for dinner as I seek to satisfy my sudden craving for a burger and fries. SUCCESS. o/
TWENTY-FOUR HOURS AGO: VICTORIA WAS SUPER-AWESOME. THERE WERE SEALS AND PUPPIES (though not at the same time) AND LOTS OF LOTS OF REALLY COOL PEOPLE. Also fear of heights, cannibal demons, and my total failure at sneaking out of a bed. I am no ninja, guys, no matter how much I'd like to dream.

If it makes you feel any better, I always feel horribly funny every time I write an app. EVERY DAMN TIME. A-and I've been doing this more or less regularly since June 2005. I don't think that feeling ever goes away. D:

It's also super-nice because I've known Haru for years and years, and now she's finally close enough that I can harass her and Zazzle on a semi-regular basis♥ (OBVIOUSLY THIS MEANS YOU SHOULD MOVE TO THE WEST COAST. WE'RE AWESOME HERE. 8Db)
... yeah, the general trend I've seen is that everyone feels unfunny when they app. I feel a little better for it, but at the same time, WOE. XD; (My biggest problem is that I CAN be funny, but I'm very ... physically humorous? Running into walls, making weird faces, that sort of thing; I'm not good at snappy writing/dialogue such as necessary in apps. XD)

I-I totally hear you. My problem is that my character types tend to be the comedic straight men -- they really, really need someone to bounce off of. Which you obviously can't do in an app. D: MY SUGGESTION (as suggested by Juri, actually -- we were talking about this the other day) is to find a good, IC gimmick for your character and milk the everliving crap out of it. Having a focus for your app usually, uuusually helps. (As long as you don't overdo it.)

Y-yeah, my big problem with this app is that I REALLY WANT THIS CHARACTER!1!!1 but I'm having a hard time coming up with a good focus/joke to go off. .__. Hopefully the betas that volunteered will be able to help me appropriately beat it into something that'll pass muster. o/
