\o/ So Friday was a bust beyond getting some grocery shopping done; I woke up so exhausted-sick that I went back to bed for another three hours. :( And then fell asleep for ANOTHER three hours after my errands were done -- I don't think I've slept that much in a single day for ... uh. Years.
BUT NOW IT'S SATURDAY.
ALREADY DONE (as opposed to To Do):
- Hit up the post office! Mailed off everything AND picked up the Tactics Compact Illustration book (more on that in a bit)
- Had lunch! I'm weak versus burgers, sometimes. :(b
- Watched a guy perform crazy skateboarding stunts in the street. I say this mostly because he was zooming down the street in the wrong direction as opposed to traffic. :( He moved before there were any collisions, thankfully.
- Bookstoooooore! o/ Got my own copy of Small Favors, SO NOW TO READ. :D Also went ahead and picked up the first three of Butcher's other series, because Dresden books are like, a three-day affair with me. :( (And only three days because about three chapters from the end, I slow down immensely because I don't want it to be ofer. ._.)
- Got loved on by a large white dog. HE WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE ME AND WANTED EAR SCRITCHIES AND EVERYTHING. :( I want a dog. ;;b
- Arrived at home! Will now proceed to do nothing of worth, except maybe some writing, before I'm off to play in the park! o/
The compact illustration book is gorgeous, by the way. :( Some of the illustrations are repeated from the original full-sized artbook, but there's some stuff from the newer chapters -- including the gorgeous one of Haruka with the birdcage :( -- and then some I've never seen before! ♥ Once I psyche myself up to bending the pages enough for decent scans, I'm at least scanning the really hot one of Haruka in a formal suit and Youko lounging in a kimono. And the one of Haruka with PUPPIES. Maybe the one of Raikou in the bathtub.Oh who am I even kidding, that's not a "maybe."
I miss my bitty tengu fandom, guys. I miss reading it and I miss writing for it, especially now that there was PLOT and it seems like it might be winding to an end. They've finally gone into details about Haruka's past, but there's still a lot of questions about Kantarou that aren't answered -- did his mother really get carried off by a kasha? Is this related to Miyabi's divination that he comes from a family of liars and thieves? What about his karma is so heavy that he can't say anything? What were the circumstances of his getting that scar? SOMEONE TALK TENGU WITH ME. PLEASE? :(

And I seriously think the series is beginning to wrap up, only. They've done SO LITTLE with Kantarou's past and the other things about him that it makes me sad. :|

I'm curious by the way, what was the possessed Rosalie saying... it seems she took some interest in Kantarou. :O

Given how sporradically the chapters come out, I'm really not sure if or when they'll get into Kantarou's past -- I really HOPE they will, though. I'm terribly curious about what his karma is, and what it'll mean for the end.
Which part are you referencing? I don't have the scans offhand, so I can't remember where Shuten took an interest in Kantarou?

I've not heard anything about Kinoshita's health, but I think we've gotten about as much about Sugino's past as we're gonna get. :\
I want to! I signed up for some for springkink and yaoi_challenge, so we'll see what comes of it.

Didn't she have another series in the works? :/ I haven't heard too much about that. I hope her health isn't affecting her work much. Lots of mangaka seem to get it at one point in their careers ._. ;_; I hold hoooppee for more Sugino~ I'd like to know how he went down to the path of tengu-hood ;_;

Re: Kantarou's past; Kantarou fan that I am, I am quite pleased that it doesn't dwell too much? There's always fanfic for things like that. And knowing Kantarou, I figure that he'd probably be one to say: well, the past doesn't matter, only the present.

See, Kantarou's my favorite character -- and I don't know if I'd agree that the present is the only thing that matters. It's really obvious that things from years ago still bother him badly (when people comment on his unusual coloring, he nearly has a panic attack), and while Kantarou is desperately trying to OVERCOME his past self, I don't think he'd discount it as worthless. The problem is that the mangaka have been dropping hints -- similiar to how they've done with Haruka -- about things that make Kantarou the person he is in the series, and I am really curious about those. Especially the part about his mother, and Shuten's observations about him. I don't mind SOME mystery, but there are still some things about him I really want to know more about. D:
