MY WRITING MOJO HAS DESERTED ME ;o;
obviously this means I should do a meme instead. Ilu
inarticulate |D
a) I want to talk about how my ships and concept of shipping varies with fandom, so name a fandom and I'll discuss what I ship and what shipping means to me in that fandom.
b) I have a lot of fandoms. Have you ever wondered about one of the fandom I sometimes mention on my journal which you don't know of? Ask me any question you want about them!
MAKE ME THINK, MAYBE THIS WILL BRING MY WRITING MOJO BACK. 8(

Now I will qualify this hilarious statement!
Because I mean, anyone who's read the first nine or ten chapters of the series can agree that Mikage and Teito were pretty ridiculously gay for each other -- and I <>do like that pairing, I think it's cute and tragic and sob why did they do that to Mikage! But. I don't actively ship it; it's not something that I chase down and seek out, which is part of the whole "shipping in a fandom" thing, for me. I ... think Teito is way too damaged, as he is in canon, to really be good for a relationship, and I think Mikage could have fixed/helped that, but didn't really get much of a chance for that. It's like. IF THEY COULD HAVE (i.e., no deaths), I WOULD AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THEY WOULD'VE GOTTEN TOGETHER AND FOREVER BOYS, but. I don't feel particularly kneejerk-outraged when, say, Teito is paired with Frau (which seems to be the mangaka's pairing of choice). They're cute, but not something I ship in my fangirl heart.
Frau/Teito is kind of pretty and hilarious for its parallels, but ... if Teito is damaged, so is Frau, and I actually like them better as nonshipped, paralleling-maybe-helping-each-other-GET-BETTER than shipping them. Hakuren/Teito code too much as best friends for me, despite their occasionally supergay declarations to and about each other.
AND I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT SINCE PLAYING HAKUREN I AM DISTURBED BY CASTOR PAIRINGS THE SAME WAY THAT I AM DISTURBED BY THE IDEAS OF MY PARENTS HAVING SEX.
... That said, Castor and Razette are the closest I come to shipping, but -- he's a bishop and she is a singing little-girl mermaid. So.
SOB!

Hilariously, I was expecting you to answer Hakuren/Devit. 8Db

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!
So what if I do. :(

SHOULD I ASK YOU ABOUT CFUD AND MAKE YOU TALK ABOUT SHIPPING THERE?
From:

S-sob if you asked me about CFUD that would take forever! I would say EVERYONE/EVERYONE minus the people whom I have parent-child or sibling-type relationships with. :(

Longer answer!
Oz/Gil sort of hits me in all my master-servant TRAGEDY buttons, and it's really tragically obvious that there's no one that Gil loves as much as Oz, even when Oz is moving away from him -- first after being thrown into the Abyss, and second when he starts growing more obsessed with Alice. It's tragic and unhealthy and sob Gil, just be happy! :(
Oz/Alice also hits a lot of buttons for me. She is a tiny toppy tsundere who doesn't understand her ~feelings~ and HE'S emotionally damaged and they as both terrible and really good for each other. And it's cute. :'(
Alice/Gil ... ... on a purely shallow level, is pretty effing hot. EVER SINCE THE STUFF WITH THEM BOTH KNOWING/RECOGNIZING JACK, though, I've shipped it more. :( Mysterious shared history + obsession with Oz = uwahhhhh.
... I also ship Sheri/Break, Break/Gil (8D), and think that Break-Vincent fighty hatesex would be amazing and someone not me should write it so I can read it. :Db

... Break-Vincent fighty hatesex would involve inappropriate use of chess pieces and roses.

Bonus: Mention muu at least once.
Also now I want to take this meme but that's procastination. :(

I-if people don't know how ridiculously hard I ship Haruka/Kantarou, I might have to headdesk just a little. THEY HIT A LOT OF MY BUTTONS -- the mortal/immortal dynamic, the loyalty/trust issues that they still manage to overcome, the goofy one/straight man and just -- they are my forever otp. 4srs. :(
... THAT SAID I also have this ridiculously guilty fondness for Raikou/Kantarou, because they're both smarmy scheming bastards who keep trying to outthink each other and both parallel each other and don't when it comes to their obsession with the Oni-Eating Tengu. They are snipey and hateful and at times really really funny. It's also hot. >_>
Less actively or intensely, I also ship Muu/Sugino (AND WHY NOT), Muu/Kantarou, Watanabe/Ibaragi, Raikou/Ibaragi, and fully believe that Kantarou lost his virginity to some nominally human-shaped youkai when he was young. \o/

ALSO, in super-typical expected-of-me fashion, I ship Yuuko/Clow. |D Not so much in a love sense, but that they're two very powerful, very old people who understood each other extraordinarily well, and were as affectionate for each other as old business-oriented friends and drinking partners could hope to be.
On a more minor level, Yuuko topping THE ENTIRE WORLD and Watanuki + the Zashikiwarashi are also awesome options I would not say no to. :Db

Sebastian/Betty ftwFrom:

Sebastian/his girlfriend. No, seriously, is there any greater love than Sebastian's devotion to his dainty black-haired lady? >: Though certainly his dalliances with other pussycats is also both amusing and entertaining, yes.
And Madam Red + Grell for really creepy, not really a ship thing, and very bloody mesed-up sex. Mindfuck, mindfuck, it's awwwwwwright. ON THAT NOTE I kind of like comical Grell-->Sebastian because it is eternally hilarious to me. I-I kind of hope Grell will come back and soon, just to make Sebastian Supremely Uncomfortable again. 8D
I also think that Lizzie/Ciel is adorable, for all that it's doomed and they would ultimately be very bad together, because they don't understand one another. But I think Lizzie genuinely loves Ciel, and I think that of everyone and everything that remains in his life, Ciel cares about Lizzie as much as he possibly can. I just also think he's far too emotionally damaged to reciprocate as she wants him to. >:
sob DAMAGED MASTERS and the servants who are bound to them.

ALSO, ELIADE/CROWLEY. :( I-I love the questions that their relationship raised -- did she truly love him? Was she capable of it, regardless of her last words? If she was, what does that say about the akuma and the souls within them -- the synthesis of someone else + the Earl's machinations, and how they change? I am constantly sad that even searching J-art sites, there's very very little about them. :(
... and I also really like Rhode/Allen and Rhode/Rinali, because I am v. fond of Rhode's creepy ancient-being-in-a-little-girl's-body aspect, which comes out the most when she's playing with Allen or Rinali. I kind of platonically ship Mahoja and Anita, as well, sob. ;;

Then I get kinda obsessed with it. You're on some pretty good stuff.
(That's actually how I ended up reading Dresden Files and Kuroshitsuji. Found them by accident and vaguely remembered having read something on your journal. I'm so glad I decided to read them. *crying with happiness*)
However, that's all pretty recent. So I'll ask for "The Dresden Files" here, but... If you still remember that meme you did about genderswitched characters and what would change? And you're still interested in it? I would love to hear about the female Harry Dresden. (I'm sorry for asking for it here, I am. But I hadn't read the books yet when you made the meme, and my curiosity's been nagging.)

Well! Obviously enough, I'm very fond of the stuff that I get into for reading -- but for the record, I'm happy you've been enjoying the Dresden Files. :D THOMAS NOVELLA HELL YEAH \o/ I'm still hoping Butcher will eventually compile all the Dresden short stories he's been putting into various anthologies into a single book. That'd be wonderful. ;o;
Uhhhhhh, hm. Last genderswitch challenge I did, someone asked for Harry, so I wrote that -- name Haley, but otherwise mooooostly the same. The big thing I would have done is emphasize more about her heritage -- there is a huge part of me that is utterly delighted that his (her, in this case, I suppose) mother's maiden name is LeFay. Delighted. So probably there'd be a heavier fae influence in her life, and I waffle between considering her a lesbian or bi with a definite female bias. ... probably a lesbian, though.
Then again, if I had any influence in the Dresden books, there'd be more of Mouse being awesome like he was in Proven Guilty and White Knight, so ahahahahahaha, my biases. =w=

I want the novella. ;_; But I live in another continent so I won't get it unless I order it, and it's kinda expensive... Maybe I'll get Blood Lite though, I hear the short story is supposed to be very funny.
...This makes me think of the fancy party in Death Masks. Seeing as Susan picked the clothes, she'd have forced Haley into a dress, wouldn't she. And make-up too. And then they probably caused a scandal, flirting with each other and walking around arm-in-arm... Did it make her more wary of Marcone? Since he pretty much kidnaps her in Storm Front.
I want to buy Blood Rites just so I can read about puppy Mouse.
Also, if you're still having trouble writing, maybe reading a bit would help? I've recently been looking for Dresden fic. I found Dresden fic, Chinese Fable stile. (And bookverse, too! Well, except for Bob and some of the backstory. But still.) Here goes the ad:
The Fable of Joyful Wing by shiplizard
A fable set in Ancient China, featuring a surprisingly familiar narrator. Set in the same universe as Barry Hughart's Bridge of Birds, but not quite a crossover.
A (scruffy, smartass) sage of Peking goes to hell and back for his ghostly mentor.
---
I am not a rich man and I will never be a rich man, but I have been blessed by the gods with two things. One is the adopted family that I have come to be a part of over my many years, and who I could not love more if they were all my own blood, and the second is an abundance of stories.
I could tell you a thousand stories; I could tell you how Pious Sword rescued Iron Hammer Maiden from a marauding dragon, and became her husband. I could tell you how Thirsty Heart, the half-demon son of a witch, found his brother-- or how he fell in love with a mortal whose Chi was too pure for him to drink from. I could tell you how Ma Jun-heng the bandit ascended to nobility, and became the baron they call Little Tiger, or how Lightning Scar nearly killed the Dread Warlord and Slow Son had to finish the job for him. I could tell you the love story between the barbarian Sigrun and the soldier they call Red Ox. I could tell you how the silver-eyed demon named Sun Blindness led a little girl and a Buddhist Monk across the deadly desert of night, and was converted to Buddhism. I could tell you how Little Shield became the first female captain of the city guard of Peking, and what she did with the position.
But of all the stories, the one I wish to tell today is that of the faithful ghost and his bride.
I'm still trying to catch all the references, but the prose kinda reminded me a bit of your stories. So I figured I'd spam you with it. I hope you don't mind (too much).
