Excerpt: There once lived an old woman, who was so very old that none remembered her name: they called her Granny Winter, because her eyes were the same color as water under layers of ice, and her hair was the same pure white as newly fallen snow: this she always kept pinned up in a bun, the hair drawn so tightly that it pulled at the skin of her face. She never argued the name, but she did not seem to care for it very much, either: her mouth would turn into a sour frown and she would glare for long uncomfortable seconds any time someone used it. Still, she responded to it, so no one ever thought to call her differently.

Thoughts: And awaaaaaaaaaay we go with NaNo \o/ What I think I am going to do is just write fic/short stories as they please me, and work on a longer continuous piece, which is what I will be posting under the filter I polled for earlier last month. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS A BAD START--this piece in particular is for [livejournal.com profile] imaginarybeasts, and there's still a good near-thousand words left before it's done, so hey! I'm pretty pleased with how I've done so far. (Especially with all the inherent distractions and errands I had to run today.)

Also I have downloaded the Write or Die desktop version, and I'm still getting used to it, but fffff. USEFUL THING, WRITE OR DIE. :'D
